The project promises a new lease of life for this iconic building, which had up until recently, been owned by The Co-operative Bank following repossession during construction in 1992. The bank relocated to Manchester in 2018 and shortly after the freehold was acquired by Eamar Developments UK, who have since revealed some exciting plans for its future.
Eamar Developments UK, supported by JBGass have agreed a lease with the Indian restaurant Royal Nawab. The award-winning restaurant chain already has two London-based restaurants and is looking forward to expanding into the Greater Manchester region.
The location itself has experienced ongoing development and regeneration since 2005 with the surrounding business park comically referred to as The Stopfordian Valley of the Kings. This factor, plus proximity to a number of significant transport links, made it a particularly attractive development for the business. CEO Dr Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Naeem, who is local to the area himself, said, “This is certainly a flagship Stockport property and we are delighted to have the opportunity to make a significant investment in its refurbishment.”
