Jackson Barrett & Gass are proud to announce their support for East Cheshire Hospice by raising £1640.00

Jackson Barrett & Gass supported the charity through the fifth annual East Cheshire Hospice Will Week. The Wilmslow Solicitors offered their time without charging their fee to write standard Wills. Anyone having their Will written during this week was given the opportunity to make a donation to the Hospice.

East Cheshire Hospice provides very special care for adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses from which there is no cure.  They care for the whole person, putting patients, their families and carers at the centre of everything they do.

As a registered charity, all their services are completely free.  However, the Hospice has to fundraise over 80% of its running costs from government simply to maintain the current provision, which is almost £7,000 every single day of the year.   Gifts from Wills, also known as legacies or bequests, provide the funding for up to 1 in 3 patients.

Paul Clark of Jackson Barrett & Gass said “When the Hospice originally asked if we would like to get involved and support this initiative by writing some Wills free of charge, we thought it was a great idea.

Now in its fifth year, we have seen the positive impact it has had in raising awareness about the Hospice, and the importance of Wills as well as some much needed funds.”

The Hospice’s Legacy & Trusts Manager, Fiona Beasley, said:  “Many people put off writing a Will again and again.  We’re delighted that the support of local Solicitors like Jackson Barrett & Gass waiving their fee to do this work has meant that many local people have put their affairs in order and had a valid Will drawn up.  Since it began Will Week has raised over £50,000 in donations.”

The next East Cheshire Hospice Will Week takes place from 5-9 October. For more information about the East Cheshire Hospice & Will Week, visit www.eastcheshirehospice.org.uk/willweek or contact 01625 666991.
